Clara Steen Skott diary, 1948-1952

February 3

1948 Did big ironing - tho I really wanted to go to Farm + Home Week to hear Mrs. Sayre. Cleaned off an inch of snow at 5. Painters putting first coat on doors + window frames. K + I heard Robt. Gard on Indian lore at Woman's Club Guest Nite. 
1949 Didn't sleep till after 1. Freshmen getting good start on cotton dresses. Sophs. made stuffed potatoes, cheese straws, tomato salad. Teachers' mtg. with Blue River after school. 
SONNY 1950 Mixed some sausage. Felt tired out, took nap, worked needle point. Walked downtown. Started reading "Elephant walk" Made out Vaughan seed order, grandma helping. 
1951 Baked white bread, cherry cake. Walked to library in PM. Milder. "Aunt Minnie" Vold was taken in to hospital in PM in  Gruber's ambulance. 
1952 Cloudy. Doris Buehler took rest of church books to church. We stayed home. Phil Smith, Wm. Rabe, Anna May + H. Vold called. I read "A Merry Briton in Pioneer Wisconsin"
