1948 I took Kathryn into 7:15 . . . for Beloil for 2 day's WFSA retreat. Baked bread + chocolate cake. Saw Maple Sutton, her for wk. Signe came out on 4:30 bus + stayed till 9:50, knitting her first mittens. I took Mrs. Mealey to Mrs. Ray Davis' for comm. mtg. 
19[49] Alarm clock balked just before time to go off, so we missed 7 AM train by 10 min. I took nap, cleaned apt., walked downtown, took pics of Joey Mitchell on snowbank on Main St., fell on icy walk. Hans came back from Avoca for me + we got home about 5. 
1950 We walked to church. Some ice. Kromrey's brought us home. Anna May here for dinner - spare ribs. 
Finished reading "Elephant Walk."
1951 K. printed pics so I couldn't wash as no end in darkroom yet. Saul Ward order - dry goods + furnace filters - called on Mrs. Heebink in PM - home from Wis. gen. hospital a week. Hans at office
1952 Drove to Branch Co. ~3 times for Hans. He dressed at noon (first for 3 days)
Woman's Club in P.M. Panel on library. Took Mrs. Morgan. Frank Keller + Barbara here in eve. Kathryn came at 7, work on display plans.
