Clara Steen Skott diary, 1948-1952

February 19

1948 Ironed, baked bread, went to East Side in Madison to get last 3 windows; painted them on outside. Weather turned cold + windy. 
1949. Put new zipper in blue dress. Finished skirt except hem at school. There from 10-3:30. Caught a mouse in trap in supply cupboard. We drove home by 7: P.M., lunching enroute. 
19 Awake 4-6:30, reading part of it, but felt bum all day. No one of us to church. I finished reading L.C. Douglas' "The Big Fisherman."

1951 3 days it has not frozen! snow level sinking, water in streets, + a few dry spots on walks! Washed, hung inside, sewed snaps on dress, wore it. All Guild offices here for cherry coke + PM exec. session. K. took our pie. In eve to Olson for Homemakers' Club. 15 there. 
1952. Rested up for tomorrow! Snowed all day - 6 or 8 inches. Peggy + Delores, also 3 small boys, did our shoveling. In eve I walked to graded school helped Margaret Phelps + Comm. peel 150 lb. potatoes.
