MARCH 4 7 degrees 1948 Bright sun - icicles 5 or 6 ft. long on our south roof. I patched plaster in several rooms, ironed 8 shirts+. Helped (?) Hans put screws for window shades in Roodt's rooms. Mr. and Mrs. Roodt here a few min. 1949. First Jr. demonstration - Sophs made oatmeal cookies. Hans and I went home [illegible] at 4 for first time this yr. Anna May home from RI. 1950. Had bad backache part of time; Hans' mother helped with cleaning and baking filled cookies. Frank didn't work as he has intestinal flu. I scraped ice off north walk. Mild. 1951. Began this mo. leading adult class 9. "Condition of world at time of Exodus". Avis Mac Leau here nearly an hr. to offer keep on church annual chicken dinner. Frank brought ice cream. We took some up to Vold's at 4:30. Hofstad's here hr. or so. Hans only up a little. 0 degrees 1952 Bad blizzard. Still blowing at noon when Mr. Gruber and Mr. Brassington took us to select lot in Middleton Jet cemetery at noon. We waded snow. Frank sent money to Hilda, but she she couldn't stay if she did so decided against it. More food! and callers. Signe not well - taking much penicillin.
