MARCH 6 1948 Awake from 2 till past 5 so was blow par. Mrs. Phelps called on Red Cross roll call. More snow. Stayed at library from 3 to 9, catching up on work, subsisting on 6 graham crax. 1949. Frank left for Chicago and Lausing, Mich. on 2 AM bus. Hans took him to Madison. Signe came out on 9:30 bus! I took her home at 5. Hans and I left for Muscoda at 7. Gave Philip our Cardinal Roost Follies tickets. 1950 Washed old curtains and a few things by hand. Sent box good clothes to Marie Rodtke. Dr. Allen here and prescribed sulfa for Frank. To village caucus with Mrs. Daniels and Rupp. 50 degrees 1951. Helped Mrs. Bloschke about an hr. at village hall. Handicraft show at Club in P.M. I took my needlepoint chain; Norwegian mittens, Danish and Chinese gloves. Many visitors and lovely things. To Comm. Council in eve, tho tired. 1952. Sunny, a little thawing. Orville and Olga, Velma, [Maufeld?], Oskar, [name], and my brother Charlie came about noon. Edith K and Mrs. Showers helped serve dinner, Florence Davis, Margaret Hafstad and Deone coffee, cake, jello, etc. after 3. Stauke and Wayne W. spoke wonderfully at funeral. All left for Iowa except Mother Skott. Such lovely flowers!
