MARCH 18 1948 Hans and I brought in tall steel cabinet, etc. I filled it with grocery supp. We hung window shades in bath and bedrooms. Hans and I went to Madison, got mattress for Frank's bed. 1949. Came home with Harry Snyder in 1 hr. 5". Mild day. After my supper of a glass of buttermilk, Hans came after all, then at 8:15 Dale Kelley arrived in red and yellow Chevrolet from Ames. 1950. Hans worked on Chinese Agr. scrapbook all day and till 11 PM. We cleaned apt. I baked choc. sponge cake, shopped. Signe here in PM and sewed red blouse. Mrs. Pierstorff here, ordered cards (Guild benefit). Took orders for $5 worth. 1951. Hans didn't feel very well. K and I drove to church. Very sloppy after snow in night. Fine Palm Sunday services: 15 new members. 60 in choir. S.S. too short. In PM wrote an Easter "poem" and Easter cards. Gugel's played Canasta with us. Dale K and Frank here [illegible] waffle supper. Kelly has "new" Nash. 1952. Rainy. Began ironing at 6. Baked bread, took honey custards to [illegible] Halstads. Hans' old suit to cleaners. Cut out 6 white choir robes. Presided at Guild in eve. Mrs. Faye [de?] Flynt of 1st Baptist spoke.
