April 9

APRIL 9
1948. Sunny, so raked between curb and north sidewalk, washing 14 windows on outside, painted 8 sets of strips first coat, also Bristol St. door frame. Hans to Chicago to see NORC. Baked bread. Adele here in new Hudson coupe, on way to see Dr. Cooksie.
1949. Usual Sat. cleaning. Sewed on blue jacket and put last stitches in skirt. Hans raised shelf in cabinet for place to keep sewing machine.
1950 Easter. I drove to sunrise services in Frank's Olds. Awake with tummy ache at 3, so nap before Hans and I to church at 9:30. Mrs. Baumann and I had charge of church nursery - more than 20 youngsters. Just we and Frank here. Anna May came home by bus Moline in eve - too much ice there to drive. I read "Quest in the Desert" - Roy Chapman Andrews.
1951. Up at 6. Hans to office. Anna May drove their Ford for 2 weeks trip. I washed, inc. 3 rugs, 1 pr. curtains ironed Hans' shirts, etc. Nap. Drove to Quisling's for check with Dr. S. He gave me a shot in back for neuralgia. Fine day.
64 1952 Frank and I moved my desk into my bedroom, library table into living room for my business center and Frank's desk into his room - at Branch a while. Got payroll book, journal and even cash register tape well along. Got Bldg. permit for Sig's duplex.
