Stopped at Meth. church to see Luella Ruff - at Lillian James to see Hans' mother. Overnight at Oskar's. Talked late. 1949 Sunny yet, AND warmer. Elms in bloom. Taught freshmen a Virginia reel. Last 6 weeks period begins. Made myself tearose crepe nightie. Walked downtown. Finished "Whiteoak Harvest" 1950 Cleaned up house, shampooed hair, worked hour or two on needlepoint, took nap. Hans went to Jefferson. Read in "The Making of a Maine Man" by Franklin C. Gould 1951 Frank came unexpectedly. He helped do his large washing. In PM I ironed it and packed, also cleaned house. 7:30 the Jolly Neighbors came - 15 of them. Vergie A helped me give lesson. Clara Lanfenberg brought salad. 1952. Slept very badly. Cleaned apt.
