APRIL 14 1948 Sunny. Hung big washing out on new clothes reel in south yard. Frank home for second day, sick. Hans had 1st check up this yr. at hosp - no digitalis to be tried! He began working at noon for BAE. Busy at library - 3-5. Read in "Spoon River". 1949. Had last of recreation unit for freshmen. Mrs. Ruth White visited my Sr. and Soph. classes. Rode c Harry Sugden, also Joyce Sobek and Mary Storms. Home before 4. Only 3 in house last 2 nights - John and Lois and "Aunt Minnie" 1950 Baked bread, cleaned apt. J.J. Schroede, the Monday groceryman, brought my 2 blue shaggy rugs for bedroom. Called on Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Henderson and delivered stationary. We spent eve at Kromrey's, as did the Lee Lange's and Anna May. Drank tea and ate ice cream [roll?] 1951. April sunshine and showered. Wrote up last eve, typed and pasted 2 pages and put in scrapbook for Europe. Many phone calls. Nap. Doris Buehler and Marjorie Theilke here; we jointly rated essays on Americanism. Shirley Grob 1st also Ann Gibson 9th grade. 1952. Best sleep yet - 7 1/2 hrs. unbroken. Small washing, K hung most outside on line.(4/15 Frank and I attended probate of Hans will in courthouse; I'm duly appointed executrix). Called on Emma H. and Betty Hanson. New officers elected at Guild. TIR/ISD.
