APRIL 15 63 degrees 1948. K. home from Chicago. Ironed till 2. Tired from no sleep 3 to 5. Cleaned up upstairs sink and linoleum, waxed Frank's floor. Read in "Spoonhandle" Frank back at work. Hans worked for BAE all day. 38 degrees 19 Awake 2:30 to 4:30 or so, then slept till 8:30 and again in P.M. Cleaned, finished blue jacket, walked downtown. 4" snow! Good Friday. Had backache. 1950 so did not sleep soon. Baked oatmeal cookies. Went to Madison with Frank, home on noon bus. Bought a little paint at [Regenbrug's?] who gave me a red rose. Ordered rose stair carpet at Ward's, got organdy at Yost's. Raked south yard and planted cold frame. 1951. K and I walked to church. Mrs. McKee brought me home. Hans not home this weekend. Took nap, called on Mary Sholts, and Rose Utter (recently home from [Fla?]). 1952. Wrote letters. / Probate of Hans' will. Ironed, cleaned. Appointed executrix of estate by Judge Kromeke. Guild in eve - much business - Mrs. Atkins talked on old glass.
