APRIL 23 1948. Again we walked downtown in AM. Got early lunch, then Hans and Chris took in his wife to go back to her 98 yr. old mother in Holdredge, Neb. Sig came in A.M. K. and I sanded old Moris chain, etc. She removed varnish from cedar chest. Lights off after 5 P.M. I baked bread in Offendahl's gas stove. 1949. Cleaned, rested, washed a few windows. Hans got sheets, etc. to send to his Cousin Marie for her second wedding. I hemmed a "peasant" dresser scarf. 1950. Up at 5:45 about as usual. Made cherry pie. We walked to church, sat up front from N.O. Utter's brought me home. Signe brought pecans here from 9:30 to 6. Frank dug holes for setting shrubs, between showers. I took nap while rest out to see hermetically sealed silo. Nearly inch rain. 1951 Hans in office this week - telegram for him to pilot a group of Dones 2 1/2 mo. in U.S. but [name] doesn't want to let him. I washed, K and I worked in garden. Planted sweet peas and lettuce. I took Deone to Home Ec Club at College Club. Gladys Meloche showed pics of London and Denmark. 1952. Took Kathryn in by 9. I had date with Dr. Harned at 9:45 and waited 9:20 to past 11, then under diathermy for 45". Feel better. Got checks in full from Equitable and Conn. General. Inked in upstairs and basement plans, showed them to Wittenberg in eve.
