APRIL 25 1948 Taught Mrs. Comwell's class of 13 again at S.S. Hilda arr. from Alabama, D.C., N.Y., on 2:00 bus - earlier than expected. She, K and I dug up plants at Wittenberg's and I set out violets, red rose, and 2 delphinium. Sig, Dan, Ellen and Janie, Agnes Cuff, Laurie and Howie here. 1949. Didn't sleep after 4 much. Srs. made cream puffs. Went to Blue River at 12 with Marie Reuter and mother and 2 girls from Lone Rock. Was 1 of 3 judges in sectional FHA contest. 6 very good demonstrations. Teachers' mtg at 4 to name Jr. boy for Boys' State. Corrected Soph. exam in eve. 36 degrees 1950 Didn't sleep after 4 much. Hung big washing mostly outside - sheets froze! Filled in most of the rest of the cracks in hall. Called on Mrs. Mary Sholts, with broken write since Good Friday. (April 26) 1951 14th day temp. sub-normal. 1" of rain. Drove to bank. Darned and pressed pr. trousers. Did needlepoint. Nap! Work on garden plow. 1952. Did 11 day washing - a perfect day. Hosed off rest of screens, put them on on south side. Took Mary Sholt's 2 pies to [Masonic?] bldg. Near. Sprained ankle on Rabe's back steps but helped sell candy and pop - 12 school bands marched - a gay scene. DK here for supper.
