MAY 13 1948. Mrs. Daniels brought Mrs. Dee and Mrs. of Verona and we showed them library and gave them books to help. I got milk and some more dishes, etc. from Wittenburg's. Cut out striped chambray dress in P.M. In eve we went with [Salzwbergns?] for supper in Masonic Temple and showed pics 1949. 3 Sr. dems. Left at 3:30 or so for Maquoketa. Took Alice Leavens to Lancaster on way. Lunch on way. Took Hans' mother to Amanda's for eve. They have new porch. 1950. Went shopping with the Volds' at Piggly-Wiggly. Baked rhubarb crisp. We gardened a while in P.M. 74 degrees 1951. Sig came out on 9:30 and went to church with me. Mother's Day, communion, Pentecost! Sig gave me 2 Berea, Ky. vases, Hilda nylon gloves and hanky, K box of photographic cards. We all went riding then took Sig home at 7. Called on Hofstad's. 1952. We four left at 8:15.
