1948 Our 31 anniversary. Washed, ironed, baked bread, painted 4 screens, had quiet library period in which I made May report + finished readying several new books. In eve Mr. Rabe + Rev Bierne called, then we showed pics to them + to Betty Roodt + parents, sisters, etc. 1949. Hans better but till sleepy. We left Middleton before 6:30. I drove to Muscoda, tho had to stop + sleep 15" on way. Then we drove 42 miles in AM - detours, etc. I called on Alta Bachim. 1950 33" anniversary. Hilda sent waffle iron. Did washing. In eve I went with mrs. Marcus Schwab, Mrs. Lanfenberg, Mrs. Clarence Miller to Mrs. Clyde Emdens in Merrill Crest to last Jolly Homemakers' Club this spring. 1951. 34" ann. Sewed on top of dress. About supper time Rex + Dorothea drove in in their new blue car. They slept in south bedroom upstairs (Volds in Balsam Lake all week). 1952. Frank worked with his bees. I baked bread, painted (inc. our front screen for door). Rec'd last life insurance, my first cash from Fashion Frorks, $5.23. and a big pail of black dirt from George Hafstad. Had another bad spell.
