JUNE 4
3" day above 90 degrees 1948. Hans went to Sun Prairie, hopes to teach ex-G.I's there instead of Muscoda. I painted screendoor, more screens, baked bread, cleaned and waxed stairs, mended for Frank, set out plants Volds brought from Balsam Lake.
1949. Joyce came out on morning bus and worked 9 hours. She laundered living room curtains, washed windows and washed and waxed floor in Roodt's rooms, also hall and stairs. Betty and Fred moved to Wauwatosa. Aired woolens.
1950. Hans and I walked to church, home after S.S. with Kromrey's. Baked cake. Fixed tomato salad, chicken, etc. for supper, Frank and Ina Bliss here, also Rahes for pictures. Gave Judy tiny wooden shoes from Ribe, Denmark. Volds home after 10 [days?] at Balsam Lake.
1951 Awoke from 1 to 4 c indigestion. Hans off to work and made (skim milk powder) Bavarian cream. Slept 8:30 to 10. Felt good enuf to drive to Home Ec Club pot luck luncheon at Mrs.
1925 Commonwealth Ave.
1952 Baked choc. chip cookies before breakfast, cleaned out incinerator and chimney base, ironed, worked 7 hours for Branch Co - completed May Journal - all balanced - QPS report for May, and began on statements to customers. Wrote 3 short book reviews in eve for MTT.
