1948 Up at 4 as couldn't sleep. Rained, so couldn't wash or work in garden. Cleaned apt. again. Hans went to Muscoda for the day with Mr. Fay of State Dept. Frank went to Marshfield for week. I mailed him his cap. Library, then after supper, Rex, Dora + Owen came. 1949. Poured rain all AM. more than 1 1/2" In it I drove to Chula Vista to take Carol Muller and Elaine Jacobson or FHA state Convention. 140 miles round trip. TIRED Home 1:15 Empty workshop 2 - 4:45 except Ila a short time. Made machine buttonholes in K's blouse. 1950. Heavy rain at 6:00 AM. Hans went to Manston. Rested as usual before Bible school. Helped with lunch of sandwiches + milk. Hot + humid. 1951. We slept in Hilda's apt. Got groc. + fixed picnic, in Kiwanis Park with Rev. Bisby + family. Gary + Call in church office + to see newly decorated Broadway Meth. church. Hans + I saw Hazel in Omaha. To Lincoln + Lewis + Clarke monuments. 94º 1952 Hectic day. Plumber here fixed Vold's sink, but couldn't do mine. I did circulars in Frank's bedroom, worked 3 hrs at Branch. Joe Diederich cut wrong ash tree! + south half of elm. Church mtg till early 12
