June 19
1948 Just as breakfast finished, Velma and Paul and Hans' mother drove in - 7:30.  We went to Signe's graduation in Univ. Fieldhouse. 2953 grads. Sat in upper balcony. Taxi to 415 N. Park then we all had lunch with Sig at nurses' Dorm. Velma and Paul went home 2:30. Busy at library - Frank home from Marshfield in eve.

1949 Baked peanut butter cookies. K and I went to church. Rev. (name?), Congregational, preached, as Weirwill on vacation. Hans and I found Sig sound asleep as she is on night duty. Al and Jo came to Owen and Kae's. Called on Kilpatricks (?). Frank finally got car fixed up and left for Hanlan at 6 PM.

1950 Second week Vacation Bible School. My class minus one as Steven Smith was run into by car Fri. eve and still unconscious. Very cool. Wore Norway sweater. Did washing in P.M. Kathryn worked 8-4.

1951 Hans left for Black River Falls. Froze 2 boxes of our own rhubarb. My shoulders stiff with neuralgia; had bad attack indigestion in P.M. - while downtown! Walked to guild in eve. Mrs. Sacrison gave dem. on flower arrangement. I read garden poems. New guild year begins. I ate no ice cream and strawberries.

1952  Frank back to work after a week out. I didn't sleep after 3 until after breakfast. Painted 5 basement windows, etc and in PM all 4 garage windows on outside. Cool. Mac C and his men put up first rafters.
