June 26 1948 We had Betty's portable Singer, so I stitched my striped chambray skirt, hemmed 2 hdkfs for Frank and sewed a lot of rug rags. Busy library sessions. 173 books this week and prepared a lot of new ones. Hans put up hook strip under stairs. 1949 Hoed and transplanted marigolds before breakfast. Drove to church alone. Sig here on 1:40 bus. We didn't go to church picnic at Olin Park. I wrote 4 letters. Mel Bachman came and signed our vaccination papers. Hans to Muscoda in eve. 1950 Did huge washing; K and I did ironing. Hoed quite a lot in garden. Wind has lamed my shoulders some. Froze 4 pt rhubarb (Vold's brought from Balsam Lake). 1951 Neuralgic left shoulder persists for whole week - ever since home from Iowa. Ironed, inc. 2 pr. curtains. Slept an hr tho sleep fine at night. Called on Mrs. Morgan still in wheelchair. Walked to Ladies' Night at Men's Brotherhood to hear Ed Carr. 1952 Baked bread and strawberry shortcake, painted 1-1/2 hrs in AM and 3 in PM on storm windows, 15 on 1 side. Working (illegible) not much else. In eve we called on Wittenby(?) back from 5 weeks in Kansas Hospital. Sig and Marian D here in eve. Saw their Eastern Kodachrome.
