July 28 1948 Tired from helping K move big dresser down to preacher's room yesterday. Hot, so was hard to keep awake at Conference. Stopped at Timlin's after 3. Called on Mrs. Zeigler - George died Monday. 1949 Hans and I "spadsered" but went wrong way so had to go thru fields - to (OvreLerte?), lunch, milk at creamery, then to Morten Nielsen's. Very old stone artifacts, shells and records of old churches he wrote. Party in eve, Fedenborg's, Mondan's, Jensen's, Hansen's, Nicolaisen's. Coffee and cakes. 1950 90 degrees Went to Madison 10-12:30 but didn't many good month end bargains, just white plastic purse. Took nap. Began embroidering Guild pillowcase - cutwork. Pat Kenyon came for Christmas card samples - I have 20.25 in orders. 1951 Frank home for 2 weeks - Case plant in Rockford layed his whole group off for vacation. Kal Dave Co. Fair - too hot and dusty for me to desire going. Anna May left early for Balsam Lake. 1952 1-1/2" rain in night. I slept 8-1/2 hrs. Painted all 4 storm doors both sides and new "milkhouse" frame. Les H. here 9:30 to 2:30. Had confab with Elmore W. about bathroom lights. Frank hauled out 3 loads rock lath and men began putting it on.
