August 3 1948 Showers. While Hans went to Laurence Kovars, I tried to find Sikhardo - in the "Muscoda Mountains" - and I failed. In PM called on Lillian Storms, Alice Adams, Joan Anneas, Maxine Bartels, Betty Salmon. 1949 Alternate sunshine and rain - and how! Washed by hand in rain water - but only a few dried. Baked dried apple pie and muffins. Aunt K and we to Paul Nissen's in eve - Koffee and 6 kinds of sweets! 1950 Wrote up Community-wide benefit plans for Jacobson's, took to MTT. Solicited 2 lb. coffee and pt. cream for Sunday eve. Phoned many for soliciting cash donations. Rev. W. and Ruth P called. Went with Lange's to Guild ice cream social at band concert. Got town of M headed up for canvass. Sleep in flannel nightie! 1951 Ah! cooler. Baked apple crisp and oatmeal cookies. Hans and I went to Madison after dinner, home 3:30. Defrosted freezer and removed stuff to Nearly fill the locker. 1952 On train thru Washington - the snow capped Cascades. Late in Tacoma, about 3. Hilda took me to her apt. in her Ford, then went to Brownspoint Salmon Bake, then to Vi Bernath's and thru new concrete-block house. To Dash Point in Mrs. Alta Caldwell's house for the week overlooking Puget Sound, roses, blue hydrangeas, etc. Cat Kodi. Saw British boat and Coast Guard cutter.
