August 5
1948  Very cool. Typed 2 letters for Hans. Made out Home Ec. outlines for year. Hemmed print jersey dress and basted blue jersey skirt. To Joe Kovars in eve with Hans - Hans had bad headache.

1949 Slept 11 hrs. straight. Baked oatmeal cookies. At 1:30 we went on "rutebil" to Hoderslev, to Aabenraa, where we got camera repairs. Narrow, crooked sts. To Groosten where we stayed in a "Gastgivergaard", across So fro Groosten Slot.

1950  Baked white bread and cookies. Hans and I downtown twice. Frank came in AM, slept all PM. (He works "graveyard shift") I put blue needlepoint on one of my bedroom chairs. We watered garden. Canvassed Offerdahl's and Al Dahmer's

1951 Awake 1:30-5 - felt too bum to go to church. Hans and K. to Belleville to see parade in PM, then he and I went to Chandler's golden wedding. Hofstads and Riggs' here for chicken sandwich supper (also lime veg. jello and cherry upside down cake.) Rained.

1952 Slept 8 hrs and again in PM! Made a little loganberry jam and a batch SureJell blackberry jelly. Hilda and I had picked Mrs. C's berries. Shortened my navy nylon, wrote bunch of cards, sat in sun in PM and did needlepoint. Talk German with Dash Point PM. Hilda had 4 friends out for pot luck supper and pics. Had Mrs Phyllis Hegnauer and sons Mack and Keith from up the hill (home, St. Paul) as callers.
