August 27
1948  Shower at Geo. (Corpus?). Learned how to make machine buttonholes and made 6 on white jersey dress.  Lengthened aqua rayon dress. With Hans in P.M. Mary Story not home yet. Found June Hicks and Janice. Lined up uniform for Mary Helen Scott.

1949 Baked a cake - with Danish flour. In eve Hr and Fr. Schmidt (the Smeders) Lauritzens and 2 couples from house Aunt Katherine sold, here for coffee and several kinds of cake.

1950  Slept little after 1:30 to 5, so slept nearly all P.M. No church. Frank here a little. Read in Kristin (Lairans?) dotter.  Wayne here an hr. in eve on way back to Camp McCoy.

1951  Didn't sleep till 12:30 or so. Felt punk nearly all day. Got Fashion Frock kit at last. Sold Mrs. Dahmen first order, showed to E. Kromrey and Eva Lange for later orders. Made a pillowcase.

1952  Hot again. Worked an hr at Branch (OPS!) drove to Madison, saw Sig and was on the square a short time. Canned 17 pt. peaches in PM, slept an hr. then got last corn from garden. Froze 2 pkg limas. Showed Anna May FF in eve.
