August 28
1948  90 degrees or above all week.  Fairly nice morning but day as hot as ever. To school for mail and copy class schedule. Sewed a bit. Left after lunch. Hans getting in a call to Orville Olson's. Home by 5. After supper (for 4) Hans and I got limas, 14 melons, spuds, tomatoes from a garden. I did washing. Olga, Orville, Wilbur, Amanda, Sandra came. Up till 12.

1949  Hans and Chris went to Chris' woods near Aabefroa for the day. I washed a few pieces, worked more on needlepoint. "Midday" at 4:30 when H&C came to Paul Nissen's at 5 (were invited) back for supper, then with Fedensborg's to lake near Jels and new school at Troldjelo - very fine. Then cocoa + at Fedensborg's.

1950  Baked pinwheel cookies. Pressed new ruffled curtains (Hilda gave me Christmas) and hung after washing windows and flowered plastic drapes. K helped clean rooms. In eve 9 state PMA fieldmen here, also Joe Adler and wife and Mrs. Miller. We showed Chinese pics.  Served cakes and cookies.

1951  7 washersful. High humidity - 80% so drying not perfect. Baked honey drop cookies. In eve to Kromrey's for last bazaar comm. E. Lange, Greta, Esther Kal, G. Henderson, E. Hallock, Deone, 9.

1952  Canned last of bu. of peaches, 4 pt., also first 3 pt. tomatoes. Baked raisin bread. Slept 1 hr. Worked on books 1 hr. Finished reading "Garden to the East" in eve, after visiting Murray's.
