August 29 1948 Centennial parade passed our door. I got breakfast for the 9 of us. They were on way home from Canada, etc.; left at 9:30. Hans rested. Rest of us to church. Rev. Wierwill wasn't at our place at all. I ironed. Elec. stove went off as dinner was about ready. Hans and I drove to Muscoda in rain. 1949 Didn't sleep after 3 or 4 - Can't stand 6 meals a day so ate just 2 - at noon before we left Leste on 1:40 bus, and in eve at "Spiserestauration" in Kolding. We stayed at Hotel Royal. We packed from 10-12 and lerft 2 big bagfulls at Aunt Kathrine's. Warm bath and 10 hours of sleep put me in good shape again. 1950 Baked bread - first for some time. In AM called on Edith Kromrey and Mary Sholts on guild business. Nap in P.M. as no sleep till 1 AM. Cloudy cool weather, misty. 1951 Ironed. Still hot with "tropical humidity". Painted 10 cupboard doors in church kitchen in P.M. while Edith K. cleaned cupboards. To Heebrink's in eve - got 9.72 order for dress, etc. and cards. 1952 Got a gallon of Camellia pink Super Kemtone and painted first coat of Sig's hall. Rainy for a change. Whole crew working on finishing. Frank and Cliff in W. attic. I worked on books and circulars 4-1/4 hrs.
