SEPTEMBER 2 1948 Cool, but turned hot again. My 10 Sophomore girls sulphured apples. I worked in my new lesson plan book. Canned 2 pt. tomatoes to "come out even" on our supplies. Named co-advisor of Sophs. with Mr. Linley. They had class mtg. in my room. 1949 We went out to artificial insemination plant with Konsulent. Fine [illegible]. He took us home for [vin?] and lunch! Girls Greta and Lisa. Harry Christins. To Aulum. Rained all PM. In raincoats we went to and had supper - tomatoes and sweet corn! To Viborg for over night. Worst room yet in Jernbane Hotel. 1950. Sunny. Hoed late carrots and lettuce, picked limas. A busy day, yet not much to show for it. Hans cleaned furnace, softened water, etc. 1951. Hans and K to hear Rockwell Smith at Wesleyan. I walked to church - home c Margaret helps. Got several to help solicit ads for Musical Taylors. Sig here for chicken dinner. We went to Dahlia Soc. Flower Show in Madison. Visited c Grace Kirk. at Hadley's. Helped Verna V make Guild yearbooks in eve. 1952 First furnace fire in eve. Picked out linoleums for new house, bought more paint for Sig and Marian's bedrooms. Canned 11 pt tomatoes, made monochromatic arrangement of asters, physostegias, and nicotiana, with hydrangeas to match dish and purple columbine leaves. Garden Club guests of Woman's Club at Blaschke's. To garden.
