SEPTEMBER 10 1948 Srs. tested fibers with flames, alkali, and microscope. Sophs. made 9 pt. peach preserves. Frances K and I fixed up [3rd?] week of hot lunch program. Hans and I went home after Olson call (while I slept), 11:40. 1949. A long night sweat my cold out pretty well. Washed and ironed, tho was rather weak. Hans getting his final pics on Tina Niessen's 620 camera. Several callers. 1950 Up at 6, baked rhubarb (frozen) pies and cooked chicken. 4 of us to church. New lessons began in adult SS 10 class. 91 at S.S. Sprinkled. 5 of us for dinner, 10 for supper. Hans' mother Olga and Siders fam. here. We took K. to Pardeeville, stopped at Weidemann's. 1951. Blueberry muffins for breakfast. We and Boyer's in to Madison 10-12 and again in P.M. Around L. Mendota. Brought Leah Coverdale out for supper. Showed Jap. pictures. K. Boyer's and I played camasta - no luck for me. 88 degrees 1952 12 degrees ave. above normal. Ironed, called on Dr. Hodgson at Univ. To Jct. to see family monument, now in place. Froze 5 pkg. str. beans. H. Vold gave me. Sig and Marian out, also the Degns. Read first 140 pp in "Pioneer's Progress" by Alvin Johnson.
