SEPTEMBER 13 1948. A fine day - wore nylon dress. Sr. girls begin on handwork. Freshmen notebooks in - some very good. Faculty picnic along Wis. R. Muskmelons ice cream for dessert. Bonfire. 1949. Andrea Nielsen's sister called on us at Beck's Hotel then helped us shop for a "Maleri" and pr. wooden shoes for Hans. At harbor, saw "Florida", "Delaware", "Paraguay" etc. To movie in Hotel in eve, "Zulu Paradise". I still can not understand dansk. Disgusting. 1950. Went in with Hilda on 8:20 bus. She left 9:35 for Ames and Council Bluffs (where she will be Girl Scout executive). I went to Quisling's to learn more about colitis. Bought aqua rayon gabardine for dress. Cut out white figured China silk blouse. Called on Vold's in eve also on Lange's. Mr. Lange in bed - heart attack. 1951. Hans begins working for Capital Implement Co. I finished ironing, took posters to Midltn. Jet. and Pine Bluff, bake K. birthday cake, shampooed hair (dried it in sun and wind). Sig out for supper I took her in at 8:30. HOT 1952 Awake 3 to 5. (maybe a bit of cider Anna May gave me). Baked Frank 2 small pies and K's birthday cake - but she didn't come till 6. I took her in to Mary Abbey's wedding at First Meth. church. At Sig's. Gave K cameo earrings I got in Tacoma.
