SEPTEMBER 27 1948 Walked downtown to mail stuff to K before school. Gave Sophs exam on food preservation - 74 to 99%. Typed premium list in eve at school - lights went out at Scott's while I canned 3 pt. tomatoes. 1949 Set time back 40". Hans can't even keep a Bramine down, so took him to ship's doctor. He ate soup at noon and supper. Read "Three Golden Rivers" by Edna Price (Bobbs - Merrill '48) only new Am. book in ship's library. We played 500 with Tacoma and Chi. women. 67 degrees 1950 Slept 8 hrs! Took honey custards to Mr. Lange, canned 4 qt. tomatoes. Rained in night, but it cleared so that my washing dried. Baked white bread. Mrs. Murray called in P.M. Rev. Weirwill in eve. Hans home for late supper after 2 days helping find bin sites in Grant, Co. etc. 78 degrees 1951 Ironed several shirts, Mother S doing mending - also ruined crocheted lace she ripped off old pr. pillowcases. Rained. Took her in to Madison for extra batteries for her hearing aid. 1952. Slept well. Up 5:30, canned 6 qt. tomato juice. Met Peggy and father at 2121 Univ., engaged him to paint. Electricians worked in basement in AM. I painted cast door outside. Don finally started Sig's bookshelves. Has finished her dressing table, and Bonnet phone place. Graders worked all PM. I at Branch 3 hrs and 2 in eve. Took Sig in
