SEPTEMBER 30 1948. Sophomores begin studying [wool?], Sr - Jr - silver, China. Only 2 regular school days this week! Mr. Greene and I sorted out ticket - sellers for fall games and events. 1949. Set time back 20 degrees. Very thick fog all day and a rough sea. Read "Virginia Grandolet" by Henry Bellaman, a La. story. Took nap. Movie in eve "John loves Mary" with Ronald Reagan. Farewell dinner, tourist 75 degrees 1950. Frank here overnite and for breakfast. I washed car. Hans and I moved freezer to west basement and cupboard from attic to basement and filled with canned peaches and tomatoes. Sewed a little. Fine day 1951. Awake 3 to 5 as usual! After breakfast at grandma's, Hans and I went downtown to phone, tied up box for Burge's, called on Edna Walker in her Apt. Picnic dinner at grandmas Ullma's and Amanda's all came and Oskar later. Wilbur gave the 2 pumpkins, Donnie apples and bittersweet, Velma hickory nuts and beans, and 5 doz eggs we brought. Home 4 - 7:30. 1952. Still warm. Carpenters finished, put on stair rail, Sig's ironing board, Marian's closet sliding doors, and elbows on windows to open. Painter did kitchen first coat. I puttied nailholes in Sig's room. Anna May and Bill Parker called in eve.
