OCTOBER 2 1948. Defrosted refrig., dusted, etc. while Hans to Lyle Wilson's. Completed official festival list of those who won premiums, I drove home, arr. 1. Philip and I dug 1 1/2 bu. spuds and got tomatoes and soy beans. Very tired. Did some cleaning. 1949. Set time back final hr. On board Gripsholm. Saw 5 or 6 ships. Sunny party, and we got several snaps on deck. Final 500 games with 2 Tacoma women. Packed big suitcase before noon to be sent to dock. Bed early. 1950 Hans to Eau Claire on 6:20 bus to work on bin sites all week. I finished washing by 9:40, but let some clothes get wet in P.M. rain. Sewed canned 4 pt. tomatoes, nap. Community Council in eve - heard Mr. Baldwin on Madison's United Givers' Fund. 1951 15 degrees above average mean temp. for Oct. 2. Did big washing, 2 quilts, big blue rug. Called on Lois Westedl - noon. I can show Fashion Frocks after week off - Guest Night at Woman's Club, I talked on UN flag. 1952. To house and Branch early. Les Huseboe here 10 to 12, 1 to 2. Don and Pete Sipple put on Sig's blue plastic tabletop. Took up most of plants in porch boxes. Turned colder. Elsie came in from Canada about 6 PM.
