OCTOBER 9 1948 Dusted up apt. floors, vacuumed rugs and furniture, washed kitchen windows and 2 summer dresses. Hans came home 1:20 from Muscoda. Later we went to Madison. Didn't get anything but groceries. 50 degrees 1949 have just arrived from Berlin, Germany. Up till 2 AM. Sig slept at Velma's. After breakfast saw Mother Skott's new little house; at Frances', Oskar's, took boys along to Olga's for dinner. Lillian and Dick Wehrs from Middleburg, N.Y also Chas. and Gertrude Leavett of Waterloo. Showed German b. and w. pics. Home 11. 1950. Hans to Madison office on 7:10 bus, direct (new service). Cloudy, then sunny - wonderful washday. Awake from 4:30 so napped 10:30-11. Got lard from the Branch locker plant, painted 3 storm windows and north door. 1951. Warmer. Ironed, mended, did some cleaning, put on west storm door and 2 west storm windows. Made out order for Christmas cards. At Daniels' in eve. Madison Home Ec. Club asked to meet here Nov. 19! 1952. Tired even after good night's rest for 3 nights. Painter and Chas. Blucher only ones on job besides Frank, latter 2 digging hard dirt from turnaround area. I was at Center mtg. in HS a few min. and wrote it up. Bought mailboxes. In eve 2 men laid linoleum in east kitchen and 2 waxed floors.
