OCTOBER 10 1949 Went to church - and later to dinner at church - took salad and sandwiches. Brief call on Mrs. M. Davis. We took studio couch when we went to Muscoda; met 246 autos on way - usual Sun. eve traffic. 1949. I slept 9 hrs. Lois Shafer out in AM. I cleaned out desk. Sudden rain. Wrote K. Wore no hose and lawn dress all day. 1950. Ironed, baked white bread, painted several windows outside of our living room, also storm windows. Rendered lard. Called with Rose Utter on Lois Malcolm, and in eve with Hans on Mrs. Dale Smith. 1951. Hans not able to work. I was awake 2-5, but perked up and took cards and FF to Leora Davis and Mrs. Morgan. Netted 2.65 plus 75 cents for Guild! Took Hans in for X ray at Univ. Hospital. Took nap in car! Demonstrated refurnishing chair at Jolly Homemakers' at Lanfenberg's. 1952 Mrs. Turk and I puttied hundreds of nail holes. I nailed on some baseboards - Frank and Blucher still moving hard dirt. Early supper. Frank went in to salesmen's mtg. with Donald Mener. I readied circulars. Sig and Marian brought more stuff out.
