OCTOBER 14 I showed Chinese silks to FHA. 1948. First report cards - I only gave 2 A's - to Marie Olson and Margaret Buchwald. Several "inc"s. Girls kept me busy till 4:30. Hans and I packed box for Marie, some food as usual, needles, soap, 1 1/2 men's suits, my shoes, etc. 1949 Visiting with the Wehrs. I slept with Lillian, Hans on studio couch in basement. In PM we went in her Studebaker to Hallocks, picked up 4 bu. apples - then to Madison - Univ. and Capitol. In Voc. Ed. office, found I may not get my $50 for teaching night school. 1950. Cleaned Apt. etc. after a week of neglect. Cleaned out paint pail on garage window (both sides). Hans in bed with a cold. Baked cake for Mrs. Morgan's tea. Sent box perfumed stationery to Flo. 1951. Harvest Home Sunday. my Iowa pumpkin in decorations. We stayed for pot luck dinner in charge of Mrs. Phillips. I took jello and cheese sandwiches. Frank and Kelley here a while. Saw [hole?] for parsonage. 1952 Slept 7 hrs straight. Linoleum finally finished. Tank's man got started on fixtures. I helped girls wash windows. Sig and Marion moved out in PM - I took a nap after lunch. South half of garage floor cemented. Harold Wells putting in elec. fixtures. Got yellow [illegible] from Flo.
