OCTOBER 29 1948. Good weather lasted for Muscoda Homecoming. Not much classes. I helped Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Neprud judge the floats, giving Band Mothers first, sophomores 2nd, and Freshmen 3rd. Made striped cuff set for blue dress instead of going football game. Hans and I got home at 10:20. weekend 1949. I baked bread and appel kuchen, and cake which Sig frosted; cleaned up house, finished the week's ironing, took a nap. Began reading "Sam Higginbottom, Farmer". 1950. Very fine day. Wore faille sent to church. K and I went. 108 at S.S. Guild selected curtains from samples comm. got. Signe here in P.M. She and we took K to Pardeeville. We called on La Rod's, Olga phoned that Lillian James died. 1951 Fine washday. Did up bedroom curtains and washed windows, davenport slip cover, 2 rugs (but none for Frank, as he didn't come home). To Ella Virnig in eve - got order. 1952 Cement work finished at 2121 Univ. finally! I worked 5 hrs, mostly at Branch. Breakfast for Frank. Marion's car wouldn't start so he took girls in. Softened water.
