NOVEMBER 10 1948. Clear and crisp, not very cold. I weigh 139! Our refrigerator smells up the upstairs. Helen called from St. Cloud at 10:30 PM - after our classes at school - to say that John Steen was on his first visit East - now in Wis. 68 degrees 1949. Walked to bank, Scott's. Supt. Boll of Prairie du Sac here to see Hans about teaching their GIs. Mr. Vold here for dinner. Hans drove his car to Madison. We sent box food to Kniep's. Ogden's took us to Trousdale in eve, where after potluck supper, we showed pics and souvenirs (Chinese). Kirkpatrick's brought us home. 20 degrees 1950 Coldest this season. Snow covered ground briefly, and more skiffs later. Went to see Mary Sholts' flags of many nations, typed Guild Constitution and bazaar publicity. Sewed an hour, dug row late carrots and parsley. Hans brot K home 9:30 - she lost her job at Pardeeville. 1951 Washed and put on last 3 storm windows. Washed Gugel's east ones on outside. Finished lavender print apron for bazaar, trimmed in lav. ricrac. 1952. Worked at Branch 8 to 9. Mrs. Ruth Dietz here. I finally finished overcoat for Frank. Les Huseboe here an hr. I had payroll up to date. Washed Frank's bedroom windows outside, also storms.
