NOVEMBER 11 1948. Did some cleaning in the apt. Classes till 11, then Armistice Day program, with Rev. La Vin the speaker. Frances K + I planned next week's lunches also Mon. dinner for 80. Took pictures of schoolhouse. Called on Shirley Willis. Ham dinner at Meth. 1949. Slept till 8:30 after several wakeful hours. Walked to Armistice Day program at Middleton Theater (my first time in it!) Baked sour cream cookies. Hans finished his story of Paul Nissen's farm for Wallace's Farmer. 1950. Baked honey bars, bagged flour, sugar, + dried milk for Marie's Christmas box. Finished 4yr. gingham dress for bazaar except hem. Got Guild Trav. basket from Edith Kromrey. 1951. Baked 2 apple pies for men's ham dinner. Took my big bouquet to church for pulpit flowers. After ham dinner, helped Hans on ticket sale at door. At Carl Braudt's, east of McGarland for P.M. + supper. 1952 Fine day. Flew the flag. Washed - 5 shirts, 2 pr. curtains- Washed 5 windows inside. Put on last storm windows, put "Mortite" on more No storms. Moved my bedroom dressers - more cleaning. Made 2 spice racks of scraps of wood.
