DECEMBER 2 1948. Nice weather holds. Had to keep 4 senior girls after class. Sophs. begin velvet [dachs?] [illegible]. Work on Nov. lunch report, etc. kept me till 5. Mary Jean Sikhart definitely out of school. 1949. I drove home, icy highway, arr. 12:20 AM. Slept till 7. Pressed 9 dish towels, made strawberry shortcake for dinner. Had to sleep in P.M. To church an hr. in eve, helping get ready for bazaar. Hilda left on 9:50 bus, to fly to Spokane. Slushy day. Froze in eve. 1950. Only slept 4 hrs. Baked cherry and custard pie, db. batch ch. chip cookies, and 62 rolls "Swedish" for "INTERNATIONAL" bazaar. At bazaar from 1:15 to about 9. Crowds. Turkey dinner drew about 140. Sig and Mary Frances Wheeler out and here till 10:30. 1951 Awake 12:30 to 4, slept till nearly 8, and nap in P.M. Felt bum: Ate a cooky and a little cream candy yesterday! We stayed home, except drove to see parsonage in P.M. Henry Z out in short shirt sleeves. Hans up for first. Deone, Wm. Rabe, and Geo Hofstad called. 1952 Nearly 8 hrs. sleep, about as usual lately. Softened water, baked bread, made cranberry jelly. At Mrs. Daniels' request, got Petersen's family picture for papers. Took Mmes. Showers, Chandler, Gruber, and Morgans to Woman's Club at Dr. TA Leonard's along L. Mendota. I helped with Christmas gift exchange. Ate 2 cookies and tea. Took books to Petersen's.
