DECEMBER 5 1948. Awake from 3:30 - guess will have to cut out suppers. Washed my hair in very soft water from [name] new elec. water heater and softener. Big family dinner at Oskar's. 28 there. Very windy, began snowing so home, Muscoda, 3-6:30. Snow thick Lancaster-Boscobel. 1949. Hans begins work at Production Marketing Adm. office in Madison. He goes in on 7:10 bus, home 5:45. I canned 8 pt. pears, 7 pt. Greening apples. Went with Mr. Vold to Branch Locker plant for meat of 1 hog, sharp frozen. Walked to town twice. Sunny. 29 degrees and 30 degrees 1950. Snowed nearly all day, inch or so. Ironed, baked bread, drove down town. To Woman's Club at Raemisch's. 33 there. I took African violet to Blanche B. towel for gift exchange. I got painted dish towel and mat from Blanche B. 1951. Cleaned up and rearranged house, brot Christmas stuff from attic. Got red candles and used new poinsetta plastic cloth. 12 came to Jolly Homemakers Christmas party here - big Co-op supper - Bingo for " gifts then I showed Homes Around the World. Got note paper. 8 hrs 1952. Baked whole wheat also date nut bread and 2 kinds cookies, also made fudge for bazaar. Les H. here in AM - while I baked! Worked at Branch 2-5. At church an hour in eve. Got table ready for "Mystery bundles". Slushy. Readied circulars. Frank up.
