DECEMBER 22 1948. Awake from 4 to 6 then slept to 8:30! so didn't know furnace fire out and because of bad fuse which Mr. Vold found. He had overslept - to 7:15! cleaned windows put up 1949. Grandma helped clean windows, etc. Got 10 Christmas cards, carried home Christmas tree. Sent last ones - I hope! Volds here in eve, Henry with new Zenith hearing aid. They gave us a dozen jars of fruit, pickles, tomatoes 1950. Baked filled cookies. Cleaned up apt. Vacuum cleaner cord went kaput, finished with little " " K + I to S.S. program at church in eve. Walked. Church packed. Sent cards to guild members -2[degrees] 1951 I baked fruit cake, "wheat germ apple crisp" + Kathryn brownies. Finished "birds" on apron for Anna May. Sent last of 174 cards - 1952. Awake 3:30 to 5:30 - up 7:30 + rest again after breakfast + nap after lunch. Tummy on a binge. Saw Dr. Heighway, got prescription filled. Messy, slushy. Took Mmes. Gates, Morgan, + Johnston to Whitmers to study club. Used Geo. Hofstad's woven spreads, devil mask, primitive zither, monkey skin, etc. from Liberia
