December 26

1948 Drove to church alone. Then Hans + Sig + I took K in to First Meth. church and we went out to Ardis Skreves Mitchell's new home. Pamela 16 mo. Met Helen at 6:05 train (via Portage). Supper here - oyster soup, etc. Talked late.
1949. Signe met Helen at 3 AM train, then they came out on 8:30 bus for breakfast, Owen + Kae at 2 for roast pork dinner. Helen stayed till taxi came for her about 4:30 for 5 NW train to Chi. Frank here for a few minutes. Ice
I was awake with a tummy ache several hrs. 1-4 at least
6º 1950. Hans to work at 7:10. Leg burning + indigestion kept me awake a lot. K up at 9 to shovel snow. She did the washing. I drove in to Madison in PM. to see Dr. (Rolfe) Quishing, who said I have hives - got shot of Anahist + pills. 
Maybe from licking postage stamps!
1951 Did our washing + for Frank, hung whites in garage. Nap in P.M. Let out Frank's brown pants. No one knew where Art was for 2 days. He came home from Gary, Ind. Apologized for Christmas eve fracas. Kromrey's here in eve.
1952 Washed, hung in basement + garage. K + I to Madison in P.M. Had Dr. Nesbit check my new specs - Called on Ruth Close in Blackhawk Park. Called on Ruth Clark + Volds briefly. Played Samba with Sig, Marion + K. I helped win 2 out of 3.
