1948 Didn't sleep well + shoulders ached so roasted them with heat lamp - and read 3 books! Icy roads, buses not running beyond Dodgeville, so K + Sig couldn't go to Iowa. 41º 1949 Didn't sleep till 2. Did my ironing by 10. Ice melting. Did some needlepoint, listening to Frank's radio. Hans + I beat Dale + Frank at 500 in eve. 1950 Tho leg not well, I walked down town, finished K's Christmas apron. Did some letters. K + I to Marv Zeigler's to take photos of 9 mo. Wayne. 1951 Felt good, so made most of smock. In PM. took Hans out to Branch, baked bread + spare ribs, sold 2 dresses to Mrs. N. Miller. and slip to Mrs. Morgan. 1952 Up at 5, wrote 7, finished translating letter from Aunt K to her bro. John Skott. Mailed them in Dubuque. Frank + Sig + I packed in cot + pads, my old desk, elec. roaster, ironing board, chair, etc. for K. at Maq. she put in more clothes + her chest. At farm 2 hrs. To Muscatine just after sunset. Unloaded then Frank + I stayed over night with Olga + Orville.
