DECEMBER 29 1948. Snowing on top of sleety rain. I walked to town. Hemmed blue Chinese tablecloth. Washed about 5 washersful. John and Lois Shafer back from Indiana in early eve. 1949. Cloudy. I painted metal supports for glass shelves and put them up in S. window. Cleaned out buffet drawer - nails, etc. Started working on income tax reports. Needlepoint. Ordered yew etc from Mr. Schewe 1950. K did the cleaning. I walked downtown in AM, drove to Madison 1-3. Repairs for vacuum cleaner and new deep well cooker. Brought Mrs. Reinecke home. Frank drove home from Rockford by 7:30. 1951 Frank came for long weekend, slept mostly. I cleaned apt. and stairs, walked to bank and P.O., took nap. To Juanita's wedding at 7 - evergreen, poinsettias, candles for decor. On bride's table, some of my Ore. and Wash. holly- 1951. Up soon after 4. Frank and I left Olga's 4:35 to Middleton by 7:15. I slept from Dodgeville to Verm. Frank to work with D. Meuer as usual, I worked at office 2 hrs. in AM, baked bread at noon then at office 2-5. Folded and sealed 72 statements in eve. 53 Calendar from Phil Thomforde as usual! 3 or 4 " snow in PM.
