FEBRUARY 1 1917. -10°. Glad to stay home, tho it was Club day. I finished tan crochet for the jardieniere stand set for mamma. Verna. is a captain for liking to get into mischief, esp. k. cabinet. 1918. Baked white bread and rolls, including some for bachelor. Spent all my extra time trying to churn a little bit of cream in the little Dazey churn. Letter from Anne Wilson. Constance and I played "500" at Cogswell's in evening, she just learning. 1919. Hans surprised me by coming home from Brookings just before noon. Gray day, trying to rain. I made muslin "Gertrude" with mamma's knit lace on it. Finished crocheting first pair of bootees. Walked to town in A.M. 1920. Thick fog in morning, but sun began to make roads wet in P.M. Hilda and I spent the day at Fitzgerald's Leslie took us in the Dodge. 1921. Dr. Frank came at 1 - said I was a patient no longer, & took Clifford Boldt home. Left nipple somewhat sore. Hans very busy with his chores, etc. Letters from mamma, Aunt Minnie, Millie & Anna Wilson.
