FEBRUARY 3 1917. Paul and Millie and Verna went back to town. I squeegeed pictures, and finished making over my light blue dress. 1918. -22° at 9:30 A.M. Sunny, but stayed cold all day. Ruthie [Tweit?] here 2-1/2 hrs - to get milk! I wrote to Hans, Margaret F., and Zelma. 1919. Snowed in night and morning till ground was well covered. Sunny all P.M. I had to rest frequently, but canned 1 pt. salsify, steamed brown bread, baked rhubarb pie and 2 extra shells, cleaned, mended, and pressed Hans' blue serge suit, made 12x15 pillow of our duck and chicken feather, etc. Annual Farm Bureau meeting in P.M. with 25 there. Roads froze last night, fortunately. Wm. Underwood of Brookings here for supper. 1920. Finished one undersuit for Hans and started another. 1921. Feel pretty good. Signe wakened for only one feeding in the night. I wrote birthday letter to Margaret F. Adela took Hilda home with her till tomorrow. House was very quiet with her gone. Her first night away from me. Hazel ironed for me.
