February 12 1917. Florence and I got up late - nearly ten. Then we shopped in Ames and visited the college, in the greenhouses. Her Bldg., new Biology Bldg., etc. got back to Jensen's about dark. 1918. Still quite warm. Went to town in A.M. dismantled upstairs for packing up, dried potatoes, made 2 qts green tomato preserves. Took shower bath in P.M. Made most of a bed shirt at Red Cross. Letters from Hans and Olga. Wrote Hans. 1919. Hans and Miss Dunne went out to Garfield after early lunch here on club work. Hans probably not to return till Sat. I finished first flannel petticoat, with basket edging. Wrote to Florence and Hazel Scott. Walked to town engaging Dr. Townsend. Worked on lower edge of bedspread, crocheting picot edges on corner. 1920. Headache worse, but ironed a pair of curtains, hung out part of a big washing, wrote to Edith Bliss. Charlie's moved their stuff to farm he bought near Des Moines, and he started to drive thru in his Ford. 1921. Mrs. Bolt cleaned up house and baked bread, I made suet pudding. Then Hans took her home about two o'clock. Both girls and I took out P.M. naps. Signe was very wakeful in night. I was up five or six times with her.
