February 18 1917. I was home all day. Charlie Arnold came to work a month. He is a little old choreboy. Papa came home from extension work for Sunday. 1918. Letters from Hans and Helena. Snowed most of day. I baked oatmeal cookies, dried parsnips, took apart hall tree, went to depot to see about trains, ironed, mended, etc. Went with Mrs. Hansell to get balsam fir, and had hot cocoa, rolls, etc., in woods. Great tho only 6°. 1919. Did a big two weeks washing which nearly all dried. But it made me too tired. Still thawing. 1920. Up part of the day and lounged around in my bathrobe and began taking care of Hilda again. 1921. Signe kept nearest to 1-4-7-10 schedule yet. Hazel G sent her rattle and I got letter from her + Helene; the latter also sent Hilda a lot of valentines to play with. Nearly finished ironing and mending. Even with a nap I get tired.
