February 19 1917. Crocheted. Got the mail after dinner and called on "Young Joe" No. 3 at Kennedy's, a ten-pounder who arrived yesterday. 1918. Dried the rest of my carrots, went to town in A.M. (-12° at 9 o'clock). Mrs. Barness called in A.M. I made plum jelly, took down curtains, packed, etc. Mrs. Cogswell helped me wrap chains. Went to 6:30 dinner at John Harrison's then played whist till 9:00 P.M. Then packed some more. 1919. Baked bread and did mending, but only a little ironing. August back on 11:20 A.M. train. Cloudy all day. I crocheted some. 1920. Wrote to Hans. Up all day after breakfast. Started crocheting Hilda a summer bonnet, also crocheted some on big centerpiece. Card from Hans. 1921. Signe weighs 9# at three weeks. Hazel couldn't help me as planned as she had headache; so I did what Sat. work I could. Finished last piece of ironing, did 2 washerfuls for baby; made Bavarian cream for party, Lafe Scott's 30th anniversary. We stayed till 11, but Signe had colic. Her first time out.
