March 7 1917. I made Anna Nilson a crocheted watch- bracelet, smaller than the one I sent her Christmas. Worked two hours on my spread. 1918. I did some washing for myself, canned 5 pts. cider apple butter. Mamma and I walked across fields to Red Cross at Barclay's. Fine cafeteria style dinner. Sewed on a convalescent robe. Visited with my old friends. Muddy walking back to Elmenhurst. 1919. Cleared off, melting away some snow. Springlike. Took walk in P.M. Cut out three khaki shirts for Hans and sewed up most of one. Crocheted. August here for dinner. 1920. Had headache in morning. Was alone with Hilda part of day. Hans went to Baldwin and engaged Tom Benicek to work. I wrote to mamma and August. 1921. Rainy, foggy day. Just did regular routine and slept more than an hour. Letters from Mamma and Flo.
