March 24 1917. Work on Helen's suit in forenoon. Went to Mrs. W. W. Anderson's in P.M. who entertained her S.S. class, crocheted, talked. She served 2 course luncheon on little tables. 12 there. Herman came home in P.M. 1918. We rode 65 miles. I drove Ford as far as Burbank then we went to Elk Point. Got acquainted with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crandall (Union Co. Agent). Took Crawford Keister out to Abild's, then saw Ova Hesla, to whom he hired for summer. I ran us all into ditch, keeping right side up-almost a miracle. Went to see Willie Nelson's in eve. A busy Sunday. 1919. We got up early and Hans helped with washing- a big 2 wks. one- getting thru except some hanging out by 9:00 A.M. Washed double blanket we removed week or so ago, also quilt, rugs, etc. Slept an hour in P.M. August and Frank Lynberg here for dinner. Sis sent me blue shoulder-wrap- also 2 woolen bands. Made clothespin apron, mended some. We planted sweet peas, pansies, + early peas. 1920. A rainy day. I mopped living room, mended Han's big sheep-lined coat and put it away. Hans put up Hilda's new swing in kitchen. She was a little scared at first, but began to like it. Letter from Julia Brekke with information we wanted of W.P.R. eggs and strawberry plants. 1921. Baked bread. Hazel washed for me. Signe awake all P.M. and until 11. I was so sleepy and weary Adela stayed up with her. Letter from mamma. Rained in night. We didn't get many clothes dried. Hans got milking machine started.
