March 26 1917. Did a big washing. George readjusted the engine for it, making it work better. Leslie took me to town after supper where I stayed all night with Miller's. 1918. We drove to Denison's, from where I drove Liz alone to Lumberg's where I drove team while Hans sprayed. Then after dinner there, I drove Liz to town alone, 12 miles. Began to hem curtains for front bedroom. Got letter from Anna that she comes Sat. Wrote to mamma. Carried soft water from Halderson's. 1919. First group Co. Agents' Conference, held in Hans' office. Mr. and Mrs. Keck of Yankton here for dinner and supper. She was here all day. We walked to Courthouse in P.M., had good visit. In evening Hans and I and "Jack" Crandall saw movie "For Love of Kim," an Alaska picture. Had hard sick headache afterward. 1920. Clear finally, but windy. I did about a month's washing, finishing at 3:30. Hans went in mud to Maquoketa, bringing home Ferdinand May to work, also another dresser. Adela walked out from Elwood. Hazel Warren here in eve. Oscar brought goose eggs + we set 3 hens. 1921. Couldn't get any help so didn't get Saturday work done. Managed to mend a pair of stockings and clean spot in my good dress, besides meals + taking care of baby. Men finished seeding oats.
